AMMAN, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) -- The Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) on Monday evacuated the 19th group of sick children from the Gaza Strip under the Jordanian Medical Corridor initiative, according to its statement.

Twenty child patients have been evacuated for treatment at Jordanian hospitals, along with 46 companions, in a move coordinated with the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization, the JAF said, as part of Jordan's ongoing humanitarian support for Palestinians.

The same operation also evacuated 30 child patients and 66 companions to the King Hussein Cancer Center for specialized treatment, in coordination with Saudi Arabia, the statement said.

In February, King Abdullah II announced that Jordan is ready to receive up to 2,000 Palestinian children from Gaza for treatment. ■
